Beth & Josh’s wedding marked my very first of 2026, and honestly, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to begin the year.

It felt incredibly special — not just because it was the start of a new season, but because it was one of those days that quietly reminds you that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Stepping into this as my full-time career, something I’ve dreamed about for so long, already feels surreal. But to share that moment with a bride who once walked a similar career path to mine — one we’ve both since stepped away from — added a layer of connection I hadn’t expected, and won’t forget.

Their wedding took place as an intimate ceremony at Insole Court in Cardiff — the kind of setting that naturally lends itself to closeness, warmth, and genuine connection. Beth & Josh chose to keep things beautifully simple, focusing their photography coverage on the ceremony itself and the moments immediately after. For them, it was important to document this part of the day fully — to capture the people they’d chosen to have around them, and to preserve those memories of their children having the absolute best time.

And that’s exactly what the day was about — love, in its purest and most joyful form.

Despite the shorter coverage, it never once felt like anything was missing. In just three hours, there was so much laughter, so much emotion, and such an overwhelming sense of togetherness. Their families were so welcoming, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, genuine, and full of heart from the very beginning.

One of my favourite little touches from the day came from something we planned together beforehand. As the venue doesn’t allow confetti, I suggested swapping it out for bubbles during our pre-wedding meeting — and Beth was instantly on board. Within moments, she was ordering bubble guns, and I don’t think either of us quite anticipated just how much fun they would bring.

Watching the kids (and let’s be honest — the adults too) completely light up during that moment was incredible. If anything, I’m convinced the grown-ups would have happily taken over if given half the chance. It added such a playful, joyful energy to the day — the kind of moment that feels effortless but becomes unforgettable.

But more than anything, what stood out was Beth & Josh themselves. The way they looked at each other, the quiet in-between moments, the laughter they shared — there was such a strong sense of love and partnership at the heart of everything. Nothing felt staged or forced; it was simply them, surrounded by the people who matter most, fully present in every second.

That’s what made it so special.

To start my year with a wedding like this — one filled with so much love, joy, and genuine connection — feels like the greatest privilege. And knowing I get to keep doing this, to keep telling stories like Beth & Josh’s, over and over again… it’s a feeling I’ll never take for granted.

I’m so thankful to every couple who trusts me to capture moments like these.
